As we look ahead to Black History Month 2025, The Nap Time Show is planning something special, and we need your input! We’re thinking about hosting a fun-filled, family-friendly event right here in Detroit, and we want to know if it’s something you’d be excited to attend.
Event Overview:
Event Name: Hold Fast to Dreams! Black History Month Kidstravaganza
Date: Saturday, February 15 or 22, 2025 at 1PM
Location: A local community center, library, or theater in metro-Detroit
Audience: Families with preschool and elementary-aged children
Our mission? To celebrate Black culture, history, and community in an interactive, engaging, and memorable way for families of all backgrounds.
Here's what we have planned:
What to Expect:
1. Fun Song & Dance Performances
Watch beloved characters from The Nap Time Show, like Bahb the Sheep, Siesta, and Mister Boots, perform popular songs like “The Napping Dinosaurs” and “The Affirmations Song” — and even join in on the fun! 🎶
Learn about important Black historical figures and moments in a way that’s simple, engaging, and fun for young children.
A special surprise performance celebrating Black culture and history! 🌟
2. Interactive Activities:
Craft Station: Kids can color, create simple crafts, and make nap-time-themed masks or crowns 🖍️
Photo Booth: Capture memories with themed props and characters from The Nap Time Show 📸
Raffle: Win amazing prizes like exclusive merchandise or future event tickets 🎁
3. Kid-Friendly Menu:
Yummy cultural food and sweet treats to keep the whole family energized and satisfied 🥪🍇🍪
And of course, warm Oaty Floats to heat up that winter cold! 🧃
4. Extra Fun:
Interactive Story Time: Kids can listen to stories about Black history heroes with Mister Boots. 📖
Dance Party: After the performance, kids can let loose and groove to their favorite tunes with a mini dance party led by the characters! 🕺💃
Ticket Pricing:
We want to make this event affordable for families, so here’s the pricing we’re considering:
Adults (18+): $15 per ticket
Children (2-12 years): $8 per ticket
Children under 2: Free!
Family Package (2 adults + 2 children): $35 (save a little when you bring the whole family!)
